PM Modi directs ASI to develop fort tourism in the country

MUMBAI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday directed the archaeological survey of India (ASI) officials to help develop fort tourism in the country. He said tourism of historic forts whose history was woven around inspiring worriers like Shivaji Maharaj would take country's tourism industry to a new high.

Saying that tourism is the fastest growing sector and is mostly remained limited to TajMahal, Modi asked the ASI to allow tourists to ride on horses in these forts in order to recall and recreate those feelings that inspired people over generations. He said the grand memorial of the maratha king to be built in the sea would attract tourists in a big way
